Two articles, second post

Let There be Light article is a cover story about how Thomas Edison created the light bulb.  In sept. 8,  1878 Thomas Edison journeyed to William Wallace to examine Wallace "arc light", Edison had thought about electric light already.  Edison told Wallace that he could beat him on making electric light, not until sept 4, 1882 he stood before a crowd in Manhattan and threw a switch to turn on 100 incandescent light bulbs.  Thanks to his invention know we have light bulbs in our home, burning more than 2 hours or less.

History's Mysteries talks about why Thomas Edison created the lightbult, the reason was to make more money.  Since he wanted to have an electric company, he needed the light bulb.
